UC Lecturers’ Contract Expired in Jan. 2020 and They Continue to Negotiate

While 2020 has left many unemployed and without a steady source of income, UC lecturers find themselves without contracts. The contract negotiation process began in April 2019 as stakeholders hoped a new contract could be solidified before their old one expired Jan. 31. As that date has come and gone, the most recent meeting between the UC Office of the President, or UCOP, and UC-AFT lecturers took place Tuesday and was kept confidential, according to UCOP spokesperson Stett Holbrook.
