The Department of English and Modern Languages at Park University is seeking applications for a Lecturer to teach First-Year Writing and 300-level Business and Technical Writing courses starting in August 2018. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track position. The standard teaching load is 4/4; this position will teach 75% online and 25% face-to-face courses on the Parkville Campus. The successful candidate will join a small but active department that values innovative teaching and collaboration. The candidate selected for this position will engage in service to the department and the university. In the future, the candidate may also develop and maintain online courses.
Master's degree in English from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in one of the primary subfields in English: Rhetoric/Composition, Professional and Technical Writing, Literature, or Creative Writing; at least one graduate-level course in the teaching of writing and/or professional or technical writing; evidence of at least two semesters of experience teaching writing courses in English at an accredited college or university; cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in graduate coursework.
Graduate specialization in composition or professional/technical writing at the Ph.D or M.A. level, experience teaching and designing online courses, and experience working with diverse student populations.
