This position assists with writing news and feature articles for The Washington Quarterly, and edits and proofreads materials as assigned, while ensuring consistency with GW style guidelines.

Specific Duties Include:

This position collaborates with in-house editorial staff to propose story ideas and outline publication content.

Additional responsibilities include performing research of source materials to obtain and verify facts and analyzing sources for accuracy of information and most effective approach to materials/articles.

This position may conduct interviews with university students, staff, faculty, residents and guests, and may consult with members of the university community to keep abreast of developments and to initiate or follow-up on material for articles.

Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
