The Department of Mathematics in Mercer University’s College of Liberal Arts invites applications for a one-year, visiting Assistant Professor position to start August 1, 2019. This 9-month, nonrenewable position is open to all mathematical specialties.
Responsibilities include teaching introductory, intermediate, and advanced undergraduate mathematics (21 semester hours per academic year); engaging in scholarship; and contributing to the department and the College through service.

The academic cornerstone of the university, the College of Liberal Arts, is a highly selective, residential institution enrolling over 1900 students. A Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences or closely related field is expected at the time of appointment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for excellent undergraduate teaching, the capacity for ongoing peer-reviewed scholarship, and a desire to be an active citizen in the department and College.
Selection of the final candidate is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
