Albright College invites applications for a visiting assistant professor in New Testament and ancient Christianity, to begin Fall 2019. The term will be for two years with the possibility of an additional three-year renewal.

We are especially interested in a candidate capable of teaching general education, introductory courses. Secondary expertise in Hebrew Bible, gender analysis, critical theory, critical race theory, queer hermeneutics and/or popular culture is welcome. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching and have a strong research agenda.

The teaching load is three courses per semester. Albright College’s religious studies department serves our majors and minors, but principally contributes to the College’s general education program. The College has a strong commitment to interdisciplinarity; faculty members have the opportunity to teach in their areas of expertise as well as contribute to other departments and programs on campus. Candidates should have a Ph.D. but advanced ABD will also be considered. Experience in the undergraduate classroom is preferred.
