The Department of Urban Planning and Public Policy in the School of Social Ecology invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach courses in its undergraduate program as well as the Master of Urban and Regional Planning and the Master of Public Policy programs. The department offers a BA in Urban Studies and a BA in Environmental Science and Policy. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from quarter to quarter, depending on the needs of the program and may begin as early as Winter 2019.
At the undergraduate level, we are interested in applicants who can teach topic- and skills-oriented courses in a range of urban and environmental topics, including housing, urban inequality, global cities, sustainability, and climate change as related to urban processes. We also seek lecturers who can teach skills-based course in GIS and/or geospatial analysis. At the master's level, we seek applicants with expertise in transportation planning and policy, and public policy in general.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include preparing course materials (syllabus, assignments, etc.), maintaining a course website, holding office hours, assigning grades, and advising students.
Applicants should have an advanced degree; doctoral degree preferred.
