The Department of Anthropology at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit, Catholic university, seeks well-qualified individuals to teach various undergraduate courses during the 2018-2019 academic year. Depending upon applicant background and curricular needs of the department, teaching assignments may include a variety of course fields including ANTH 5 Popular Culture and Bioanthropology; ANTH 136 Forensic Anthropology; ANTH 157 Family, Kin and Culture; ANTH 172 Anthropology of Aging; and/or other positions as the need arises. Positions are contingent upon enrollment. Courses may meet both major requirements and the university core curriculum.
The successful candidate(s) will teach at least one and no more than two courses per quarter nor more than four over the three-quarter academic year.
Salary: $6,800 per course
(1) Ph.D. or ABD in Anthropology or a closely-related field.
(2) Demonstrated excellence in teaching anthropology at the college level.
(3) Demonstrated expertise in the specific topics covered in the courses.
(4) Excellent communication skills.
