Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking an Adjunct Faculty to teach SPA 231: Spanish for Business in upcoming semesters. Spanish for Business is designed to prepare students for successful communication in the Spanish-speaking business world by covering basic business concepts and practicing real-life use of oral and written Spanish. Instructors will introduce students to essential Spanish business terminology and language used in business settings, as well as foster students’ development of cross-cultural communication skills. The instructor must be a creative and engaging educator, incorporating a variety of learning strategies, such as discussion, writing, presentation, listening, and cross-cultural analysis, in their course materials and assignments. The course assumes that the student has taken 3 semesters of Spanish, but no background in Business. This course is offered by the Department of World Languages and Cultures.

Required Qualification: Master's degree with a major in Spanish or related field. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English and Spanish is required.

Preferred Qualification:

  • College teaching experience; and/or
  • Experience in or knowledge of one or more sectors of business, such as marketing, finance, advertising, administration, or similar;
  • Experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
