JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Basic Job Purpose/Function
Provides quality instruction that will contribute to the learning experiences necessary for each student to meet the objectives of the course and to be successful in both their education and career development experiences.
Essential Duties
- Instructs students in a classroom and/or the machine tool lab.
- Provides and posts office hours for student contact before or after class, through telephone or email exchanges.
- Prepares, distributes and utilizes instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media and other devices as appropriate; incorporates the latest classroom technology when available and appropriate into instructional activities.
- Structures classes and prepares clear student objectives and curriculum to correspond with the overall program objectives. Maintains and revises curriculum to maintain currency.
- Understands, develops and provides a learning environment that supports diversity and incorporates sensitivity to diversity within the College community.
- Responsible for classroom, laboratory and departmental equipment and provides for the security of facilities and instructional materials as appropriate.
- Understands and abides by College policies and regulations and other policies, procedures and materials as required by the College, department or division.
- Convenes classes on time as scheduled.
- Maintains evaluation and grading records for assigned students; enters grades and provides all necessary documentation for incompletes within established College timelines.
- Ensures and emphasizes safe working and classroom conditions and practices.
- May participate in professional development activities.
- Maintains current licenses or certificates in areas of expertise.
- May attend in-service sessions and division meetings.
- Understands and uses the College's computer system.

- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Desired Qualifications
MINIMUM AND DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Computer Skills, etc.)
- Five (5) years of related work experience, college credits in machine tool or related manufacturing studies, or a combination thereof
- Able to read and interpret blueprints
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
- Teaching experience
- Associates degree in machine operations or related manufacturing studies
- Experience working with non-traditional students
Additional Qualifications and/or Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
