Adjunct Faculty / Chemistry, Springfield College, Springfield, MA
Springfield College invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty positions in the
Biology/Chemistry Department for the spring 2025 semester. Ideal candidates would
teach sections of Chemistry Survey, an introductory chemistry course for non-science majors.
Two sections of the course are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 AM and 9:25 AM. The co-requisite laboratory courses are offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:30 - 3:20 PM. The successful candidate may teach up to 9 credit hours. Preference is given to candidates who are excellent and innovative teachers and have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM education. These courses will meet face-to-face on the Springfield, MA campus.
The compensation for adjunct faculty with fewer than 3 years college teaching experience is $2820 for a 3-credit course. The compensation for adjunct faculty with 3 or more years college teaching experience is $3513 for a 3-credit course.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess an M.Ed., M.S., or Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field. ABD candidates are welcome. Applicants with teaching experience are highly desired.
