POSITION: ADJUNCT FIRE SCIENCE INSTRUCTOR- Hall Campus

REPORTS TO: Dean of Business, Public Safety and Professional Services

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision, instructs and supervises students in the Fire Science Technology program. Develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives; Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses; Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives; Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares required budget requests; Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate; Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports; Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area; Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students; Applicant work schedule and instructional location will be coordinated through the program director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicant must have an Associate's degree in Fire Science Technology or an Associate degree in a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university; Pro-Board (NPQ) Fire Instructor II; Pro-Board (NPQ) Evaluator certification required; Must have a minimum of five (5) years appropriate work experience.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials
Knowledge of vocational area of assignment
Skill in presenting subject matter
Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress
Skill in the use of computers and job related software programs
Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners
Oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of student information systems

This position is available at Hall campus; day and evening classes available.
