The Department of Teacher Education at Columbus State University is inviting applications for part-time faculty positions in Elementary Education.
Teaching undergraduate courses (i.e. Creative Activities, Curriculum in Elementary Education, Science in Elementary Education, and Diagnostic / Perspective Reading instruction) and supervising undergraduate candidates in the pre-service program. Other responsibilities include: following approved syllabi and curriculum/course outline as provided by the College; teaching assigned courses; supervising teacher candidates in the field; maintaining a classroom environment conducive to learning; responding to student communication and providing constructive and robust feedback in a timely manner based on provided rubrics; supporting student success; evaluating student progress; reaching out to struggling and/or high-risk students; supplementing student material when needed; referring students to appropriate college sources for information; maintaining student records and grades; posting grades within the prescribed deadline; and adhering to and meeting all established university and accreditation instructional policies, guidelines, and standards.
The successful candidate should have an earned Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the field of study or a related discipline from an accredited institution. Previous teaching experience at the college level and experience utilizing instructional technologies is desired.
