The Natural Sciences and Mathematics Division of Lesley University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is looking for a qualified Adjunct Faculty for the Fall2022 semester, in Cambridge, MA. The course will meet face to face (mask requirement pending).

The selected individual will be responsible for teaching CPHYS 1308 General Chemistry 1 with Lab.  Course description is as follows: This course covers the basic topics in inorganic and organic chemistry including: atomic structure, periodic relationships, chemical bonding, chemical reactions, and molecular structures. The topics are developed further by considering practical examples such as: air and water pollution, pesticides, food additives, forensic science, pharmaceuticals, and energy technologies. The impact of each on public policy and human health is discussed. A student project is required. This course meets for five hours weekly in order to integrate laboratory experiences.

Job RequirementsThe successful candidate will have:

  • A Master's degree (PhD preferred), with experience teaching similar courses (Chemistry with Lab)
  • A record of successfully teaching undergraduate students
  • Experience in constructivist, inquiry-based learning
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse students and foster an inclusive learning environment
  • The ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse community members, including students, professional staff, and faculty from a broad range of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, race, physical ability, age, neurodiversity, sexual orientation, gender identity, and other backgrounds
  • An inclusive pedagogy in all delivery methods
