Posted Salary Range: Commensurate with experience.
Purpose of Job
To teach Applied lessons Class for Upper/Lower Woodwinds Music and Non Music Majors.
Adjudicate Woodwind juriesScope of Responsibilities
- Create syllabus, timeline of classes, for students each semester
- Provide Applied lesson times for all registered students
- Manage online grading system and submit grades in a timely fashion
- Abide by all relevant university and/or department procedures and policies
Teach the following course work:
- MU 121 Applied Woodwinds: flute, clarinet, saxophone
- MU 221 Applied Woodwinds: flute, clarinet, saxophone
- MU 321 Applied Woodwinds: flute, clarinet, saxophone
- MU 421 Applied Woodwinds: flute, clarinet, saxophone
Essential Job Functions
- Organize and schedule applied music lesson times for all registered students
- Assign appropriate pedagogical and performance literature to all registered applied students
- Maintain knowledge of principles, methods and current developments in the field of study
- Demonstrate the ability to support, instruct, manage, motivate and evaluate applied students
- Demonstrate the ability to successfully interact with faculty, staff and students
- Prepare students for State, Regional, National and International conferences and competitions
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Qualifications
Earned Master's degree in Woodwind Music Performance or Music Education, ABD or Doctorate preferred.Licensing and Certifications

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Candidate should have a strong record of teaching and performance excellence in teaching applied Woodwinds at the collegiate levelClose Date
