The Department of Rehabilitation & Health Services is an interdisciplinary department that houses a Ph.D. in Health Services Research, two Master's degrees (Rehabilitation Counseling and Health Services Administration), two Bachelor's degrees (Public Health and Rehabilitation Studies), and several minors and certificates. We focus on preparing interdisciplinary professionals and leaders who will advance equity and optimize quality-of-life outcomes in diverse communities worldwide. In addition to being an innovative, student-centered instructor, the ideal candidate will be invested in supporting and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.Position Summary
The Department of Rehabilitation & Health Services seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2022, Spring 2023 and Summer 2023 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs.
The work assignments are associated with teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses whose duties may include 3000, 4000, and 5000-level courses in the following programs: Addiction Studies; Rehabilitation Studies; CACREP- Accredited Rehabilitation Counseling MS degree program.Minimum Qualifications
A Master's degree from an accredited Rehabilitation Counseling program or closely related field;
A minimum of three years employment in Rehabilitation counseling, vocational rehabilitation, substance use, and/or mental health counseling or a closely related field;
Experience with culturally and/or linguistically diverse populations;
Experience with online/hybrid/remote instruction.Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling or closely related field;
Higher education/university teaching experience;
Experience using the Canvas LMS platform.
Certified Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) and/or TX Licensed Professional Counselor (TX-LPC)Work Schedule: Varied
