Adjunct Teaching Position – Fall 2022

Western Connecticut State University is pleased to announce applications are being accepted for a part-time adjunct teaching position in the Social Sciences department.

The Macricostas School of Arts and Sciences is home to 13 departments, 21 undergraduate majors and five graduate majors, and offers a variety of ways for students to further their education. The Department of Social Sciences offers BA degrees in Anthropology/Sociology, Economics, Political Science, and Social Sciences. WCSU’s social sciences programs provide students with a critical understanding and holistic appreciation of the cultural, political, social and economic behavior of society. Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Geography or a related field. Must possess expertise and the ability to teach Geography 100: Principles of Geography, a three (3) credit course. Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. This course will be offered in person on campus (this is not a remote teaching opportunity).

Salary & Benefits: Minimum starting salary will be $1,854 per load credit (or a minimum of $5,562 for a single 3 credit course). WCSU is located in Danbury, Connecticut, and is within walking distance of the Danbury station on the MetroNorth train.
