The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies is seeking to fill an adjunct faculty position in our Ed.D. program in Educational Leadership and our Ph.D. program in Higher Education. Candidates are expected to have a wealth of professional and research experience in K-12 or Higher Education leadership, governance, finance, or policy, with a particular emphasis on urban communities or minority serving institutions. Depending on the candidate's discipline, the successful candidate will teach either in our Ed.D. program in Educational Leadership or Ph.D. program in Higher Education. Major responsibilities include: teaching graduate courses at doctoral level, advising students, and other professional service activities. Preference will be given to persons who have experience serving on dissertation committees, evidence of research/publications, and successful experience with grants and sources of external funding

The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) at Howard University consists of two nationally recognized degree programs: Master of Education, Doctor of Education, one certificate program: Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study, and a Doctor of Philosophy program in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies. The Graduate Programs in ELPS are designed for students preparing to become educational leaders and policy professionals. The programs reflect Howard University's commitment to addressing the needs of urban and diverse school systems by expanding the pool of diverse and well-prepared professionals. - Doctoral degree in an education-related discipline with credentials appropriate to support faculty adjunct appointment
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Urban Educational Leadership or Higher Education
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and student advising
- Ability to be a team player, working with multiple stakeholders employing a positive solution-oriented approach
