Adjunct Instructor of Physics, Lane College, Jackson, TN

Reports To: Department Chair
Classification: Part-Time Exempt
Core Responsibilities: Teaching 3-8 credit hours. The successful candidate should have experience in teaching the following courses: Physics for non-science majors, Physical Science or College Physics I/II.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching 1-2 classes, including Fall, Spring, or Summer sessions.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Skills:Qualifications and Experience:
- Doctorate in Physics or a related field is preferred.
- Candidates with a Master's degree in physics will be considered.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with Learning Management Systems, such as Blackboard.
- The ideal candidate will have familiarity with Blackboard Ultra, hybrid or online courses, and the ability to utilize innovative modalities for delivering course content.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with Learning Management Systems, such as Blackboard.
- The ability to design online courses that teach curriculum in an engaging manner, applying various teaching methods, lectures, labs, discussions, demonstrations, and individual or collaborative projects and research.
- Some walking, climbing stairs, sitting, and standing for long period of time.
