Young Harris College invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure track position to begin in August 2021. Duties will primarily include online teaching Elementary Spanish I (SPAN 1101), and Elementary Spanish II (SPAN 1102) for Young Harris Early College, but could include face-to-face classes on the Young Harris campus if the applicant is local. Young Harris Early College is the YHC dual-enrollment program in which high school students take college courses to receive transferable college credits while still earning credit toward high school graduation. The courses are pre-built in Moodle. The instructor is tasked with facilitating the courses, providing prompt, meaningful feedback and communicating frequently with student.
The successful candidate will have earned at least a Master’s degree in Spanish. A strong commitment to teaching in a liberal arts undergraduate curriculum is required. Candidate must be comfortable with technology. Course enrollments are capped at a reasonable size. Instructors are compensated per course.
