Job Summary:

Rosemont College seeks a broad range of diverse candidates to fulfill part-time faculty positions within our Master of Arts in Counseling Program. Responsibilities for the position include graduate-level instruction of coursework at one of our two campus locations: Cedar Crest College Campus (Allentown, PA) and/or Rosemont College Campus (Rosemont, PA). In addition to fulfilling teaching responsibilities, you will be invited to join monthly department meetings, participate in various program committees (i.e., admissions review committee), function as a mentor for current students, provide feedback on coursework for program evaluation, assess students on their professional dispositions, and engage in professional development opportunities.

Part-time faculty members are asked to work collaboratively with members of the Graduate Counseling Program to facilitate meaningful and engaging coursework/relationships for/with students. Consultation and collaboration among fellow part-time and full-time faculty members is emphasized to cultivate a positive work environment that supports the development of all counselor educators.

Part-time faculty members regularly communicate with the Academic Unit Leader of the Graduate Counseling Program to process their experiences with students for assigned coursework and ensure you have access to the appropriate resources to meet our shared expectations of effective planning and instruction.

Part-time faculty members are assigned to coursework on a semester-by semester basis, as appointed by the Academic Unit Leader of the Graduate Counseling Program. Our coursework is structured within 13-week semester formats during the Fall and Spring as well as both 12-week and 6-week formats during Summer Semesters. Rosemont College is seeking to employ part-time faculty members for the upcoming Summer 2021 Semesters and beyond. We wish to identify individuals that are passionate about counseling and understand modern-day obstacles and their connection to the field of counseling. Application to modern-day issues is imperative for the continued growth of our students as our society continues to evolve and challenge systemic issues. We wish to provide opportunities for part-time faculty members to instruct a variety of coursework that suits their area(s) of expertise and build a cohesive departmental unit.

Duties & Responsibilities:


* Instruct weekly coursework within the Graduate Counseling Program

* Provide weekly office hours to students assigned to coursework

* Maintain appropriate licensure and credentialing within area(s) of expertise related to the counseling profession

* Submit academic and professional scores for each student at the conclusion of every semester

* Participate in monthly department meetings for programmatic updates and information

* Suggest feedback on course structure in alignment with national accreditation standards in counseling (CACREP)

* Demonstrate a willingness to engage in committee membership outside of course responsibilities

* Develop growth fostering relationships with students to help students create their own professional identity

* Collaborate with fellow faculty members within the program for support and networking purposes

* Regularly communicate with the Director of the Graduate Counseling Program on student issues and potential resources for support

* Undertake additional duties as requested by the Academic Unit Leader of the Graduate Counseling Program

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

* Master's Degree in Counseling (or a related graduate degree)

* Professional experience within the counseling field

* Membership in professional counseling organizations (i.e., ACA, ASCA, ACES, SAIGE)

* Experience with adult learners of diverse backgrounds

* Knowledge of the Pennsylvania professional counselor license processes (LPC)

* Knowledge of CACREP accreditation standards

* Familiarity with regional practitioners and related industry organizations

* Knowledge of the program's expectations, requirements, and evaluation procedures for students

* Demonstrated experience with personal computer, data, document, and academic records management


Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's Degree in Counseling from a CACREP accredited institution

* Licensure in professional counseling

* Nationally Certified Counselor credentialing through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC)

* Credentialing in area(s) of expertise (i.e. CAADC, CCTP)

* Experience teaching various course formats (i.e. face-to-face, synchronous, asynchronous)
