The Department of Chemistry (https://www.usfca.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">https://www.usfca.edu/) invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor for one or more sections of General Chemistry I Lab starting in August 2020, for the Fall 2020 semester. The University serves a diverse group of students on a residential campus near Golden Gate Park.

Full Job Description:

Chem 112 will be taught in remote format during the fall semester. Duties include attending a session to work through and discuss the upcoming week's experiment, possibly delivering a short lab lecture at the beginning of lab, holding synchronous zoom sessions during scheduled lab time to guide students through experiments/simulations/activites, holding office hours via zoom, and grading. There would be a meeting before the session begins to prepare for the course.

Schedule and Compensation:

The Fall 2020 term for Chem 112 begins August 18 and ends December 10. As an instructor at USF, you will be hired as a part-time (adjunct) faculty.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry. Experience teaching undergraduates is strongly preferred.
