Adjunct Instructor, BioManufacturing



Department: Science, Engineering, and Math Rank Adjunct Instructor Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or in a related discipline. Work Experience 2 to 3 years experience in pharmaceutical and/or biomanufacturing environment. 2 to 3 years experience working in a GMP environment Experience with Cleanroom Gowning, GMP, Quality, Biology, Math, Aseptic techniques, Chemistry, SOP writing, and Trouble shooting skills Experience in creating and delivering training programs. Familiarity with current biotechnology practices. A passion for student learning. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Evidence of strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills. Effective oral and written communication/public relation skills. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Exceptional organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to think creatively and put ideas into action. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching, and instruction for individuals and groups and the measurement of training effects. Ability to select training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new concepts Ability to make presentations to large audiences. Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Personal integrity, honesty, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Understanding of the mission, goals, and objectives of a community college. Job Duties Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner; Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour; develops short courses and training modules in areas of expertise in biomanufacturing; constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course. Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching Maintains currency in field of expertise, in training and instructional development, and in course delivery to ensure best practices in designing and delivering education and training Monitors biomanufacturing industry trends and benchmark practices in other states and countries Develops reports related to established metrics that assess the effectiveness of our programs and to gauge the needs of the industry sector Maintains effective working relationships with industry representatives, community college staff, and the general public Required Working Hours Part- time position, may need to teach mornings, evenings and weekends.
