Job Description: *Note:Because of COVID-19 restrictions that might still be in place during Winter quarter, the faculty must be able to teach the course mixed-mode in Renton or fully online. Course Summary: EEA 533 Supervision of Instruction (3 cr) In this course, candidates develop leadership skills in instructional supervision processes central to school improvement and positive impact on student learning. Candidates examine what exemplary school leaders do to create: a vision for success; a focus on teaching and learning; a continuous shared decision making process that involves all stakeholders; and a code of ethics that develops and sustains a climate of trust and the protection of the rights of all students, families, and staff. Candidates evaluate a school and/or school system improvement process and become familiar with research-based strategies for increasing student achievement, data-driven backward-design curriculum processes, shared site-based decision-making, and pathways for promoting the achievement of all members of the learning community. Part-time Teaching Faculty at CityU have three key responsibilities: Striving for excellence in teaching and learning, Fostering student development, and Maintaining currency in their profession. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Must have an earned Master's degree from an accredited university in a field related to the area of responsibility. Must have 3-5 years professional experience in higher education curricular design, resource allocation, program evaluation and assessment, or related field. Must have online instruction experience. Demonstrated ability to provide a learning experience that links application with formal learning and adult learning theory. Ability to work in a team oriented system, deal effectively with professional staff, other part-time faculty, adult and culturally diverse students. Ability to meet the university's minimum requirements for technology knowledge standards. Ability to meet university and programmatic minimum technology access standards, Preferred Qualifications: Experience using Blackboard Academic Suite with standardized course content. Experience in higher education setting with a diverse, global audience. Experience with technology integration with course content. Additional Information: Quarter: Winter 2021 starting January Salary Information: The Part-time Teaching Faculty salary is based on the level of course (graduate, undergraduate, doctoral) and the number of course credits (1-5).
