Whyant College of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona is seeking applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Associate I in the field of ultrafast fiber lasers who will be responsible for developing ultrafast fiber lasers. Duties & Responsibilities Develop ultrafast fiber lasers in a new spectral region from visible to infrared. Analytically model various light matter phenomena using Maxwell Equations. Conduct experiments to characterize the nonlinear properties of a given material, set up optical metrology systems for quantifying the optical nonlinear effects, and set up various optical computing demonstrations using optical nonlinear phenomena. Supervise undergraduate/MSc/PhD students. Minimum Qualifications PhD in Optics or Materials Science. At least 3 years of experience.
