Teach developmental integrated reading and writing courses online. Hold office hours. Assist students. Participate in University College/TAMIU meetings, events, and/or activities, as requested. Complete trainings in a timely manner. Education and Experience: Minimum 18 SCHs of graduate work in English, Reading, or related area Three or more years of experience teaching in the discipline Evidence of impacting students’ learning, especially with at-risk students Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in English or related field Post-secondary teaching experience Experience teaching Developmental English or Reading courses Experience with integrating reading and writing skills Experience with co-teaching QM or comparable training Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to communicate, orally and in writing Ability to interact cooperatively, collaboratively, effectively, and professionally with others and the general public Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks Knowledge of effective classroom teaching, including the use of technology as a teaching tool Ability to maintain confidentiality Other information: Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary appointments, assigned per semester and on an as-needed basis.
