The Department of English at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for a new course, "Writing for the Screen" (Course number TBD), a 4-credit course to be offered Spring 2021. Writing for the Screen This course is a creative writing workshop. Capped at 12 students, it will meet either once a week for 3 hours or twice a week for 1.5 hours. While the exact content of the course will be determined by the instructor, it is to be a complement to our existing Screenwriting and Writing for Television workshops. Potential topics could include short films, web series, and writing for new media. Candidates with an MFA, at least 2 years teaching experience, and relevant work in the field will be given preference. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter, CV, a draft course syllabus, and names and contact information for two references. The deadline for first consideration is May 15, 2020. This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.
