The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Colgate University invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in Spanish, beginning fall semester 2020. Completion of Ph.D. is expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire.
The successful candidate will be a specialist in Spanish Peninsular literature with a scholarly interest in a literary movement between 1700-1936 (for instance: Enlightenment, Romanticism, Realism, Generations of 98 and 27). Normal teaching load is 5 courses per year. Teaching responsibilities include Spanish language and literature courses from the intermediate to the advanced seminar level. The successful candidate may be expected to participate in all-university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum.
