Lecturer Position: Introductory Statistics (Online)
The Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Davis, seeks part-time, temporary instructors to lead online sections in introductory statistics a few hours per week. These courses are part of the curriculum for the Online MBA program. This course will start in the Spring Quarter of 2020.
Data Analysis for Managers (Statistics)
Introduces statistics and data analysis for managerial decision-making. Descriptive statistics, principles of data collection, sampling, quality control, statistical inference. Application of data-analytic methods to problems in marketing, finance, accounting, production, operations and public policy.
Instructors will hold 10 live online sessions, one per week in a 10-week quarter, reviewing and expanding upon material presented to students in a pre-recorded format. Instructors also have responsibility for homework and exam grading. The most important requirements for the position are a strong understanding of MBA-level statistical concepts, and a fast and stable internet connection.
Positions are contingent on funding and pending administrative approval. Salary is based on ability and experience. Under this contract, once a lecturer accumulates enough quarters of service, the lecturer can be reviewed for a Continuing Lecturer position.
