LECTURER IN WRITING AND RHETORIC, UNIVERSITY WRITING PROGRAM
The University Writing Program at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, invites applications for the position of Lecturer to begin August 16, 2020. The position is a nine-month, non-tenure-accruing appointment with the possibility of renewal and an opportunity for advancement in UF’s lecturer track. The University Writing Program is a thriving, independent unit offering a wide range of writing-intensive courses in areas such as themed critical thinking and writing, discipline-focused writing, and professional writing. This position affords opportunities to design upper- and lower-division courses in the applicant’s area of specialization. Through teaching, service, and scholarly activity, our program fosters an inclusive and collaborative teaching community.
Along with a record of teaching excellence, applicants must have experience or a strong interest in teaching in one or more of the following areas: Environmental, Sustainability, or Social Justice Rhetoric. Other related areas will also be considered. In addition, applicants should be motivated to pursue experiential learning, such as directing internships, leading study abroad courses, or initiating community-based outreach. The teaching assignment is 4/3 with possible course release for the development of significant experiential learning initiatives. The salary is competitive and includes a full benefits package.
