Job Summary
The Brian Lamb School of Communication in the College of Liberal Arts at Purdue University invites applications for a full-time, Academic Year (9 month) position as a Lecturer beginning in either January or August 2020.

Qualifications/Principal Duties
M.A. in Communication, Public Relations, or related discipline such as Advertising, Strategic Communication, or Marketing; experience teaching undergraduate classes; evidence of teaching effectiveness; strong organizational skills; willingness to be flexible on specific teaching schedules according to the needs of the Lamb School. Professional experience in public relations is necessary.

The position of full-time Lecturer for the Brian Lamb School of Communication includes the following duties:

Teach four sections each semester in the Brian Lamb School of Communication. Courses taught will likely include Problems in Public Relations, Advertising Writing, or Advertising in the Electronic Mass Media, in addition to classes in the candidate’s area of specialization or experience such as publication design, media relations, social media management, or campaign implementation.
Hold all assigned classes in accord with the university academic calendar.
Hold three office hours each week for undergraduates enrolled in courses taught.
Develop appropriate course syllabi for assigned classes and report final grades for students in a timely fashion in accord with university policy.
Show willingness to be flexible in course assignments and teaching times according to the School’s needs.
Abide by all course policies for any course taught as given by the course supervisor for a given course.
Attend training and meetings as required by the course supervisor for a given course.
