The Department of History at Auburn University invites applications for one (non-tenure-track) position a the rank of Instructor.

The appointee will be primarily responsible for teaching undergraduate class in Latin American history as well as our core World History sequence (HIST 1010 and 1020).

This position would carry a 4-4 teaching load, with a merit distribution of 100% instruction. This would involve 2-3 sections of 1010/1020 each term, as well as 1-2 courses in Latin American History.

Auburn University is an R1 institution, and the Department of History supports research activity for its instructors by providing some travel and other professional development funds to instructors and other non-tenure-track faculty.

The one-year appointment will begin on August 16, 2020, with a possibility of renewal for up to two additional years contingent upon need, funding, and satisfactory performance. Ph.D. in History prior to employment desired, but outstanding candidates who are in the final state of doctoral candidacy will be considered. Review of applications will begin November 1, 2019.
