Full Time Lecturer-Management
The Charlton College of Business at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth seeks a Full Time Lecturer to teach four sections per semester of Management undergraduate and graduate courses, effective September 1, 2020.
General Summary of Position. The Lecturer will bring expertise in areas such as organizational behavior, leadership, human resource management, or entrepreneurship. In addition to documented success teaching at the college level, our ideal candidate will have the interest and experience needed to build the Management program through activities such as academic advising, club advising, career counseling, collaboration with the business community, student recruitment/retention, and curriculum development.
Masters degree or higher with emphasis in subject area, preferably from an AACSB-accredited institution
Teaching experience at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels that reflects a commitment to quality instruction.
Relevant professional experience of substantial duration (minimum 5 years full-time) and responsibility
Evidence of and commitment to ongoing professional/industry activity/engagement that is sufficient to sustain currency in discipline
Expressed interest in performing duties as an academic advisor
Expressed interest in engaging the business community through activities such as class projects, career development exercises, or club/special events.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
Experience working with diverse groups
Experience in teaching online
Experience with recruitment and retention
Experience in academic advising, career advising, or club advising
