The Changes They Are A Comin'

by P.D. Lesko

OVER THE COURSE of the next few months, readers are going to see several exciting changes in the adjunct advocate. To begin, the look of the publication continues to evolve: from this issue on, the magazine will be printed on glossy paper. As work progresses, we'll be adding more color, illustrations and photos. Each month, several thousand issues will be sent out to part-time faculty on our mailing list as samples. If you know a colleague who might be interested, or would like to pass out samples to the adjunct and full-time temporary faculty in your department, simply send an email to pdl@adjunctadvocate.com (please see our ad. on page 8). We'll ship the magazines directly to you, and as a thank you we'll send along either a copy of Misty City's "Grade Machine" program, or a copy of the excellent CV Handbook.

On the editorial side, in September, we're going to add a new column, "Going the Distance." The column will cover the distance education beat. From the latest news and information about teaching online courses, to profiles of and interviews with those from the distance education community, this column will provide readers with cutting-edge information. I am very excited about this change, particularly in light of the fact that more and more colleges and universities are offering part-time faculty opportunities to teach online courses.
